About Dev Walker

Hello Everyone,

I’m Dev Walker. I am a 33 year old finance risk analyst for a top-tier investment bank. Born and raised in NYC, from Coney Island, Brooklyn to Staten Island. I hadn’t ventured beyond the city much prior to 2015. What happened that year? Well, I had just gained my master's degree and ended my long term relationship. I embarked on a journey to find myself. What started as a trip to Miami with my sister one weekend, turned into a passion for travel, craving for new destinations and experiences, and the motivation to live my life by my own rules.
Two years and 17 countries later (and counting!) I started this blog because I’ve become a go-to resource for people with misconceptions, questions and curiosities about traveling, including how to fund it and how to balance it with work and life demands.
Traveling has played such a major role in my growth as an adult. I've learned things about myself that I probably wouldn't have if I stayed local, in my familiar surroundings. I can’t wait to share all my opinions on destinations and speak openly about my personal experiences. On that note, follow me on this never ending journey of exploration and self growth.
